Annual Benefit Concert
Each year one concert in the series is held as a benefit
for a local public service charity, to raise awareness and
forge relationships between the arts and public service sectors.
The 2008-2009 season benefit is a book drive for ReadBoston
held at our concerts on May
16 & 17. Audience members who bring new or gently
used books for children (up to age 8) or adults and receive
25% off ticket prices.
Founded in 1995, ReadBoston is a nonprofit children's literacy
program founded by Mayor Thomas M. Menino. Their mission is
to have all children in Boston reading at grade level by the
end of third grade. Each year, they distribute thousands of
free books to community centers, childcare providers, and
after school programs throughout Boston's many neighborhoods.
The program works to open the future to our city's young people,
and to promote a love of reading and literature at every age.
For more information about the food drive, please call 617-427-8200
