On the Road 1: @ The Art Complex Museum

When & Where

  • Sunday, November 5, 2023, 4 PM
The Art Complex Museum, 189 Alden Street, Duxbury MA

Seating is first-come, first-served and concertgoers are encouraged to arrive early.

Program

  • Claude Debussy, Prelude a l’apres-midi d’un faune for flute & piano
  • Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Quartet No. 3 in C Major for flute & strings, K. 285b
  • Olivier Messiaen, Quatuor pour la fin du temps for clarinet, violin, cello & piano

Messiaen’s epic masterpiece stands as one of history’s greatest musical achievements, transporting us to a place between earthly suffering and the ecstasy of heaven, between measured time and boundless eternity, between sound and silence. Likewise, Debussy prolongs the exquisite moment between sleep and waking, and Mozart gives flight to the voice of the flute.

This program is part of the Sunday Concert Series at The Art Complex Museum in Duxbury, Massachusetts.
