Program

  • Ludwig van Beethoven, Duett mit zwei obligaten Augengläsern for viola & cello, WoO 32
  • Andrea Clearfield, Three Songs after Poems of Pablo Neruda for oboe & double bass
  • Leos Janáček, String Quartet No. 1 “Kreutzer Sonata”
  • Erik Satie, Choses vues à droite et à gauche (sans lunettes) for violin & piano
  • Robert Schumann, Piano Trio No. 3 in g minor, Op. 110

Upside down and inside out… Satie parodies a Baroque suite while Beethoven shares a friendly duo with a comic wink. Janáček presents a dramatic interpretation of Tolstoy’s novella, and Schumann, with his ever-fertile imagination, reveals a world of passion and poetry. Join us as we climb through the mirror into fantastical realms of shifting perspective and whimsical storytelling.
