Program

  • William Grant Still, Suite for violin & piano
  • George Enescu, Impressions d’enfance for violin & piano, Op. 28
  • Einojuhani Rautavaara, Lost Landscapes for violin & piano
  • Johannes Brahms, Sonata No. 2 in A Major, Op. 100

With a masterpiece of color and imagination, Enescu takes us through a single day in a child’s life – complete with cuckoo clocks and crickets, fiddlers and babbling brooks – and Rautavaara recalls his own youthful wanderings. William Grant Still creates a rich dialogue with the Harlem Renaissance while Brahms invites us into his most personal inner world.

Artistic Director Deborah Boldin will host the program and provide commentary on the works.
