Where does music come from? Composers are inspired by many sources – from the rolling hills of Appalachia to a city bus in Alabama and the birds and bees flying around us every day. Join us for a colorful, creative morning of classical music – especially for kids – exploring the intersection of imagination and the world around us, with works by Dvorak, William Grant Still, Somei Satoh, and Daniel Roumain, and more.
An instrument “petting zoo” will follow the performance in the library’s beautiful outdoor garden. Kids will be able handle and play orchestral instruments as guided by the musicians, and will be encouraged to touch, pluck, bow, and strike.
