Program

  • Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Piano Trio No. 5 in C Major, K. 548
  • Philippe Hersant, Variations sur la Sonnerie de Sainte-Geneviève-du-Mont de Marin Marais
  • Frank Bridge, Miniatures, Set I for piano trio, H. 87 (1909)
  • Maurice Ravel, Piano Trio in a minor

Ravel marries his Basque heritage with the “antique” music of the Baroque, bringing poetic inspiration to the piano trio tradition. Philippe Hersant, too, looks back to reach forward, conjuring carillon bells along the way. With characteristic brilliance, Mozart sets the stage for a program of larger-than-life music filled with vivid colors, crystalline textures, and glistening, celestial magic.

Artistic Director Deborah Boldin will host the program and provide commentary on the works.
